“Superb performance!”

Rajendran K Srinivasan (Professor, National School of Drama)

“It was one of the best plays I have seen in recent times. Music by Sudheer is outstanding! Not to be missed when repeated”

Susmit Sen (Founder of the Indian Ocean Band and Susmit Sen Chronicles)

“Watched Tansen on 24th December at Shriram Centre. I must say that I was left speechless. To express your own emotions is one, to be able to convert some incomplete historical data into a play and express it as if it’s your own, is something else. The interpretations of facts and thereon subtly relating them to philosophies was just amazing. The story telling with minimal stage setup is extremely original which came across effortlessly. The acting, music, singing and coordination were just impeccable. Most great performances leave you asking for more. There are few like Tansen that leave you satisfied with thoughts within….”

Arijeet Mukherjee (Artist Association of India)

“For me, Tansen was a real visual treat. A special mention to Mohd. Faheem and Sudheer Rikhari for an excellent script and Ridhima Bagga  for the apt costumes and not overdoing them. Always ready to watch such outstanding Theatre.”

K. Madavane (Senior Director and Writer)

“It is was simply beautifull. Three actors, (Mohammad Faheem, Ridhima Bagga & Sudheer Rikhari) with two musicians on stage, acting many characters including Tansen, Akbar, etc. and Tani (Tansen's lover). The timing of their many mouvements were so good and apt. The choregraphy was perfect. Sudheer Rikhari directed the play. It was their first play and the second performance. Congratulations. If I may advise. Please give the importance for the lights. On many occasion, the actors were performing in the dark. But one learn slowly.
WHO SAY THAT THE THEATRE IS DYING IN INDIA? So refreshing to see these youngsters doing such a wonderful work. I bow to their fine artistique discipline. It is a group, with some help and luck, will go long way. All the best.”

Ashutosh Shelat (Senior Actor/Director and founder of Rang Laatu)

“You guys have pegged a benchmark!!! Your content, performance and audience-carry-home is a dot that most of Mandi House settled biggies must find challenging by enough. Sudhir, your direction needs to be curated. It is legendary! Riddhima, you are a dream come true on stage. Some more work needs to go into your music…but your movements are dreamlike and sensual. My favourite was the one who played the meisner’s other… I loved his voice in drama, song and dance… Thank you all for one of my life’s most wonderful evening.”

Sneh, Arun Sanghi

“It is outstanding and we would place it as the best we have seen in the last 40 years of our going to theatres. All the characters played their respective roles exceedingly well without any flaw. All the artists deserve special congratulations. We would say this play of yours has raised the standard of theatre in India to a very high level which has set a benchmark for others to follow. It was a musical play with history which many did not know. Involving audience was an excellent connect and idea.”

Arun Kumar Kalra

“When good actors are trained and awesome singers too and when the play itself is about a maestro called Tansen, who spent his whole life learning and mastering his passion of singing, you rest assured you have a very satisfying, meaningful and entertaining evening. This play deserves all the accolades and many more shows in India and abroad.”

I am a 59 year old music/plays lover and since my teens must have enjoyed hundreds of stage performances in Delhi- be it comedies, classics, Krishna/Ram Leelas, Raas Lilas, musical plays, Punjabi/Hindi/Urdu play festivals, mushairas, you name it. Just when I bethought to myself that I am now a ‘seen all and been there’ person, I happened to watch ‘Tansen’ and encountered my OMG moment. I was awe-struck! I have no words to express my appreciation or to compliment you enough for the unparalleled heights to which you have taken the drama, direction, story-telling, classical music and above all, entertainment wrapped in spirituality and intellectualism. So many brilliant strands and weaves blended in perfect craftsmanship and delivered as a complete package to a mature audience fully enthralled and, I should say, enraptured. Hats off to the entire team.”

Avanish Kumar

“I must say that I and my family is very frequent audience of plays in Delhi. I think Tansen was probably the best I have ever come across. Not mere by acting but with its subtle message through lyrics and melody. I wish you and the team every success. World needs many more Tansen today than ever.”

Ashish Chakraborty

“Dear team, saw your play today and must say it left us spell bound, not only was the blend of music, dance and drama unique, it is actually the USP of your troupe, the improvisations that were infused at critical junctures carried the audience along with the story. My daughter all of 5 years sat through your entire performance, which speaks volumes…if you can hold the attention of a 5 year old…that is no mean feat! Once again congratulations and keep it up…you guys really rocked it today!”
